A man from a village in Devon has pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife at their farmhouse home last year.

Stephen Parsons, 70, from Bondleigh, near Okehampton, denied a single count of murder when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court by video link from the Langdon Hospital at Dawlish.

He pleaded not guilty to the murder of Erica Parsons between 9 February and 12 February 2023.

Mrs Smith, who was in her 60s, was found dead when police were called to the couple’s home shortly after 12.30 GMT on Saturday 12 February 2023.

Judge James Adkins adjourned the case for a trial, which is due to start at Exeter Crown Court on June 10.
