Two crews spent about two hours tackling the fire in an outbuilding

Four people were taken to hospital after a shed fire near two homes.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said two crews were called to the incident at New Inn Yard in Nene Quay, Wisbech, on Monday.

They spent about two hours tackling the outbuilding fire, which was also found to be "affecting" two homes and a commercial property.

Police said there were no reports of any injuries but four people were checked over in hospital.

"All three emergency services worked closely together to deal with this incident," police said in a social media post, external.

"Nene Quay was closed while the incident was ongoing.

"Four people were taken to hospital to be checked over following this incident, but no injuries were reported from scene."

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "Two crews from Wisbech were called to a house fire on Nene Quay in Wisbech.

"The crews arrived to find a shed fire affecting two domestic properties and a commercial property."
