A new set of stamps has been designed to celebrate Guernsey's underwater flora and fauna.

The images show a variety of native species including starfish, crawfish, yellow cluster anemones and pink sea fans.

Guernsey Post said the six stamps also feature a tear design to give the illusion of a photograph being present under an illustration.

They form part of the 2024 Europa series of stamps celebrating the underwater environment.

The stamps were created by graphic designer Chloe Sarre, natural history illustrator Wendy Bramall and underwater photographer Sue Daly.

Ormer, crawfish, cuckoo wrasse and red starfish are among the sea life depicted in the set.

Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post, said the Europa stamp theme was "the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the rich variety of sea creatures and plants that exist beneath Guernsey’s waves".

The stamps are available for pre-order from Guernsey Post.
