Police say they are not treating the death of a woman in Gloucester as suspicious.

A woman in her 40s was declared dead at the scene after emergency services arrived at Fountain Square at around 9:00 BST on Saturday.

Gloucestershire Police said she had sustained injuries after a fall and the force made an appeal for information.

Police have now confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious and her next of kin and the coroner have been informed of her death.

Officers still want to hear from anyone who saw the woman earlier on Saturday, particularly between Station Road and Fountain Square.

She is described as being white and wearing a dark coat, cream hat, black trousers and black shoes.

The roads around The Dukeries have reopened.
