Man charged with arson after string of incidents

A man is due to appear in court charged with arson after a number of incidents in Bridgwater.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to The Clink shortly before 19:15 BST on Friday after reports a man was carrying a metal drain cover.

When officers arrived there were further reports of a man setting fuel alight before driving away from a petrol station.

Kelvin Weeks, 41, of no fixed address, was arrested on Friday and is due to appear at Taunton Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to supply a specimen of blood.
