Watch: Videos show schools in urgent need of repair

Footage from schools in urgent need of repair across Britain has been gathered by BBC Panorama.

Teachers sent videos of cold classrooms, leaky roofs and cracked walls.

In a statement, a Department for Education spokesperson said the government had allocated £15bn of capital funding since 2015 for essential maintenance and improvements, including £470m in 2023 "to address school buildings in need of immediate support as quickly as possible".

The government has also said it is committed to rebuilding 500 schools in England over the next 10 years.

In Wales, the government says it spent £2.3bn over the past 10 years rebuilding and refurbishing schools.

Meanwhile, the Scottish government says it provided £1bn of funding to the Learning Estate Investment Programme (LEIP), which started in 2019.
