Oxford Circus: Man charged with attempted murder over Tube track push

A man was pushed on to the tracks on Saturday but escaped serious injury

A 24-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after another man was pushed on to Tube tracks in central London.

British Transport Police said the victim was pushed on to the rails at Oxford Circus station at about 15:00 GMT on Saturday.

Members of the public helped him back on to the platform before a train arrived and he was not seriously hurt.

The charged man appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who saw what happened or the events leading up to it to contact them.
