Kimberley: Driver's spine fractured in road rage attack

A driver suffered a fractured spine and broken nose when he was attacked by two men in a road rage incident.

Nottinghamshire Police said the 44-year-old man was punched and kicked in a lay-by off the A610 near Kimberley at about 16:10 BST on 30 March.

The force said the victim had been driving along Kelham Way, Eastwood, 10 minutes earlier, when a grey Hyundai veered in front of his Mercedes.

Police said he was forced to brake to avoid a collision.

Both vehicles continued along the A610, towards Nottingham and junction 26 of the M1, and stopped after the Hyundai driver and passenger gestured at the victim to pull over.

Police said the victim was sitting in his car when the driver of the Hyundai tried to open his window.

When he got out of his car, he was assaulted by the Hyundai's occupants who then drove away.

Detectives have appealed for relevant dashcam or CCTV footage and asked witnesses to contact them.
