Blockbuster movie Iron Man 2, starring Robert Downey Jr, has debuted at the top of the UK film chart.

The action movie took £7.6m, despite its UK premiere being cancelled last month because of the flight disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud.

In second place was How To Train Your Dragon, followed by last week's number one Date Night.

Miley Cyrus' movie The Last Song opened at number four and Clash Of The Titans rounded off the top five.

The Last Song, which sees Cyrus play a rebellious teenager in her first movie since Hannah Montana, took £679,698.

Her real-life boyfriend Liam Hemsworth also stars in the film, as well as Greg Kinnear.

The only other new release in the top 10 last week was Bollywood film Housefull, which took £262,752.

At number six was romantic drama Dear John starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum.

Down one place from last week was The Ghost and at number eight was controversial super hero movie Kick-Ass, with Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang following in ninth place.
