Lost finale seen around the world

The concluding episode of TV series Lost has been simultaneously screened in the US, UK and six other countries.

The drama was seen at 0500 BST on Sky One in the UK, at the same time as viewers on the west coast of the US.

For 121 episodes and six series, viewers followed the trials of a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a tropical island.

The Daily Telegraph's reviewer said the ending was "completely thrilling" but "not entirely logical".

The final double episode was preceded in the US by a retrospective of the drama.

The first instalment was broadcast in the UK in August 2005 and was reportedly the most expensive pilot episode ever made.

Executive producers and writers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced in 2007 that the series would come to an end in 2010, giving them three years to tie up all the loose ends and answer as many questions as possible.

The final series featured a "flash-sideways" concept, portraying two parallel universes.

In one, the survivors remained on the island but the other showed a world where Oceanic flight 815 landed in Los Angeles and the passengers never ended up living together.
