Emergency meeting on Aberdeen schools merger plan

A union has held an emergency meeting with teachers to discuss plans to merge secondary schools in Aberdeen.

A report before the local authority's education committee on Thursday will recommend cutting the number of academies from 12 to eight.

This could include the merger of Torry and Kincorth, as well as Harlaw with Hazlehead, Bridge of Don with Oldmachar, and Bucksburn with Dyce.

BBC Scotland earlier revealed schools could merge in plans to save money.
