Extra £4.8m to repair weather-damaged roads in Norfolk

An extra £4.8m has been added to Norfolk's road maintenance programme to fund the cost of repairing the damage caused this winter.

The money, including £2.8m from the government, means £22m will be spent on the county's road network this year.

Surface dressing work, where bitumen and chippings are applied, has begun.

Adrian Gunson, cabinet member for travel and transport, said the early start meant repairs should be be completed while the weather was good.
