Improvement work complete at Jersey's Devil's Hole

Devil's Hole is a natural crater on Jersey's north west coast

One of Jersey's best-known landmarks has been reopened by the island's National Trust.

Devil's Hole has been closed for refurbishments and improvements for almost a year.

The natural crater in the solid cliff was caused by the sea gradually eroding the roof of what was once a cave.

The land around Devil's Hole was donated to the National Trust for Jersey in 2006 as part of the Coastline Campaign.

The work, including new sleeper steps, has been done by the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers and staff from the trust.

Visitors to Devil's Hole will now also have access to a new viewing platform, telescope and interpretation panels.
