Yvette Gate suffered from a rare bone marrow disorder

A teenager who became the focus of an international appeal for a bone marrow match has died at the age of 16.

Yvette Gate, from Bristol, had Aplastic Anaemia - where the bone marrow fails to produce red cells, platelets and white cells.

A lack of bone marrow donors amongst the black and minority ethnic (BME) community left Yvette unable to find a match.

She died at Bristol Children's Hospital on Saturday.
