Isle of Man police safety warning for Mad Sunday

  • Published

Police in the Isle of Man are urging motorcyclists using the Mountain Circuit to take care after there were 26 accidents on last year's Mad Sunday.

On Mad Sunday the circuit is opened to motorcyclists to allow them to travel on the same tarmac as the Superbike riders in the TT.

Last year seven riders were seriously injured, four slightly injured and 15 suffered damage to their motorbikes.

Insp Mark Britton said: "We want to keep the levels of injury low."

"Today a team from Bikesafe UK will be at the Creg ny Baa to give taster sessions on how to be safe riding a motorcycle."
