President Barack Obama has had a turbulent time in office with wrangling over healthcare reform, high unemployment, a huge oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico and a "shellacking" in the mid-term elections.

The approval ratings were calculated by Gallup, Pew and ABC/Washington Post and collated by www.pollster.com, external where you can find full data from these and other polls.
