Wrexham PA and telephone service to create 50 jobs

A Wrexham-based company which provides personal assistant and telephone answering services for business clients says it is creating 50 jobs.

Moneypenny, founded by a brother and sister in 2000, now employs 180 staff at Wrexham Technology Park.

It says it hopes to have the first 20 staff in post by the end of the month.

The business was chosen by the Sunday Times as one of the best companies to work for in 2009.

Managing director Glen Jackson said he hoped all new employees will be in place by the end of summer.

Mr Jackson said that "no business is recession proof" but argued that his business was "uniquely placed".

"We've grown significantly during the recession," he said.

He added: "When people are in a recession, they're looking for cost savings.

"If people are looking to downsize they still need someone to answer their calls.

"People don't want to lose the service even if they have to lose the staff."
