Safety checks delay Jersey air traffic control tower
- Published
The opening of Jersey's new air traffic control tower has been delayed by six months due to safety checks and training.
The new tower took just over a year to build, and at £11.7m, the airport said it came in under budget.
Senator Alan Maclean, minister with responsibility for the airport, said testing, training and regulatory approval had delayed its use.
The tower should be in use from 30 November.
Senator Maclean said: "This pragmatic and sensible decision reflects Jersey Airport's absolute commitment to safe and compliant flight operations."
