Leeds councillors approve Kirkgate Market rent review

  • Published

Councillors in Leeds have approved a report which proposes reviewing rent charges at the city's Kirkgate Market.

The authority's executive board examined the report, which also includes plans for further promotion of the market, on Tuesday.

The report was compiled after traders raised concerns that high rents were driving stallholders away, causing the area to become run down.

A rent review was proposed to see if current levels are appropriate.
