Guernsey's pension change timetable revealed
- Published
The draft timetable for increasing Guernsey's retirement and pension age has been published.
States members agreed to raise the age to 67 at their meeting in July, but the exact details are yet to be approved.
The Social Security Department's proposed timetable shows the change being phased in over a 10 year period.
Starting in 2020 the age will increase by two months each year until it reaches 67 in 2030.
Social Security Minister Mark Dorey said: "We think that around 9,000 Guernsey and Alderney residents will reach pension age between 2020 and 2031.
"We hope that the table will help the people affected by the change to clarify their own situation."
