Shropshire market towns to share in £3m pot

Market towns in Shropshire are to share in a £3m fund to improve their services, with residents getting a say in where the money should be spent.
The programme begins in Market Drayton, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Whitchurch, Church Stretton and Oswestry with £2.5m available for the first projects.
Smaller towns and villages can then bid for a share for further funding.
Examples of projects which can bid for funding include enhancing existing markets or creating new parks.
The money is being provided by the county council's Market Towns Revitalisation Programme.
Council leader Keith Barrow said it was vital the local economy did not slip.
"The hugely exciting thing about this project is that local councillors and communities will decide how the money is spent in their towns," he said.
The county council's cabinet will discuss the outline of the plans on Wednesday.
