Channel Islands ferry 'not for sale'

Condor Ferries said it was "surprised" to hear the ship was up for sale

A Channel Islands ferry operator has denied one of its vessels is for sale.

Condor Ferries said it was surprised to learn the Vitesse high speed ferry was being advertised by an international ship broker.

According to the website of Optima Ship brokers the 86m (282ft) ferry is on offer for $9m (£6m).

However, Condor said the vessel was operating its regular schedule between the islands and Poole and the company had no intention of selling it.

Ian Milner, Channel Islands manager, said Condor had asked the broker to remove the unwanted listing and explain how the situation arose.
