Key route in and out of Norwich closed for roadworks

A key route in and out of Norwich city centre is due to be closed as work on a new £3.3m one-way system nears completion.
St Augustine's Street will close to traffic on Monday to allow for the reconstruction of the road to create more space for pedestrians.
The pavements will be made wider and a speed limit of 20mph imposed.
Access to shops, businesses and for residents will be maintained during the three month closure.
The one-way flow of traffic will be created using St Augustine's Street (northbound), Magpie Road, Esdelle Street, Edward Street (southbound) and a new link to Pitt Street.
The project has been mainly funded by the Greater Norwich Growth Point funds and Norfolk County Council local transport plan funds.
