Guernsey politicians shape new vote system

  • Published

Workshops are being held for Guernsey's politicians to ensure they can all contribute to proposals for a new island-wide voting system.

A debate was postponed in June after several deputies criticised the Constitution Committee for proposals that were too simplistic.

Currently the island is divided into seven electoral districts, which each elects six or seven members of States.

A new system would let islanders vote for people outside their districts.
