Policeman suffers facial injuries in north Belfast knife attack

A police officer has received injuries to his face after being attacked with a knife in north Belfast.
Police said the attack happened while officers were responding to a report of an assault at Twaddell Avenue, in the Crumlin Road area of the city.
A fight broke out between a teenager and members of the public after he tried to damage a banner, police said.
A 16-year-old was arrested for wounding with intent and having an offensive weapon.
The injured officer was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.
