Man arrested after firearm reported in city park

Police were seen near Queens Park on Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow

A suspect has been arrested after reports that a man was spotted with a firearm in a Glasgow park.

Police Scotland officers were called to Queen's Park, on the south side of the city, at about 07:40.

A 43-year-old man was traced and arrested by officers.

A force spokesperson said further inquiries were ongoing but there was no risk to the wider public.
