Golf club offers reward for return of stolen steel

A golf club is offering a reward for the return of a stolen trailer loaded with thousands of pounds of metal.
The Tri Axle Tuffmac trailer is believed to have been stolen from the Foyle Golf Centre in Londonderry at around 22:20 BST on Tuesday, police said.
The trailer was loaded with steel worth around £16,000 when it was taken, the golf centre said.
Police have appealed for information about a white transit van which they believe was used in the theft.
“We believe the van made its way to the premises to carry out the theft via Racecourse Road and may have pulled in briefly at Woodlands Avenue, the new development on Alder Road beforehand,” PSNI Const Patterson said.
The officer added: “This theft is devastating for the owner. Not only is there the financial loss from the value of the trailer and the materials that have been stolen, but the owner is now without a trailer needed for work”.
Police said the trailer was loaded with galvanised steel sheeting and purlins, which are typically used to support roofs during construction.
In a social media post, the golf centre said a reward was being offered for the return of the trailer.
The steel was being used in the building of an extension, the centre said.
Police have asked for anyone with information about the theft to come forward.
