Lee Woods admitted impersonating a nurse and visiting Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

  • Published

A man has admitted impersonating a nurse at a hospital in Glasgow.

Lee Woods, 28, wore NHS clothing and a badge at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital between March and July 2023.

Court papers state Woods conducted himself in a disorderly manner and repeatedly attended the hospital, including a children's area.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court he pled guilty to a single charge of breach of the peace.

The charge says that Woods, of Greenock in Inverclyde, was not an employee, and repeatedly attended the resuscitation and children's areas while wearing NHS clothing.

A schedule of previous convictions was passed to the sheriff by prosecutor Iain Mathieson.

Patrick Brechany, defending, told the court the circumstances were "highly unusual".

He said: "I wonder if the court would benefit from a criminal justice social work report for this matter."

Sheriff David Taylor agreed and deferred sentence until the end of February, where more information surrounding the circumstances will be heard.
