The Duchess of Edinburgh has visited an event helping schoolchildren learn about where food comes from and how farmers produce it.

Sophie was at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet for the Field to Farm Learning Day, where she was shown around the event and spoke to children.

The Bath and West society said the duchess was shown around the "invaluable learning experience".

The children watched talks and demonstrations, as well as being given the opportunity to "get their hands dirty".
