Thieves take off with timber lorry from forest

Thieves have made off with a timber lorry from a forestry area in the south of Scotland.

The blue Scania was stolen some time between 16:30 on Friday and 12:30 on Monday.

The lorry was taken from an area about 1.5 miles (3km) north of the Samye Ling Tibetan centre near Eskdalemuir.

Police said they had received reports of a possible sighting of the lorry at about 01:00 on Monday when a vehicle was seen heading south on the A74(M).

Anyone with any dash cam footage or who may have seen the lorry has been asked to get in touch.
