Hundreds of singers with 50 choirs from across the UK will descend on Surrey on Saturday for a festival of song.

The ChoirBLAST 2024 event is being held in Godalming - at The Burys Field, The Wilfrid Noyce Community Centre, The Bandstand and The Phillips Memorial cloister.

The festival will feature BBC Gospel Choir of the Year winner Kudos Gospel Choir, and genres being performed will include jazz, rock, pop, and musical theatre.

Waverley Borough Councillor Adam Duce has said the event offers "something different, unique, focused solely on voice".

The family-friendly festival has a capacity of 5,000 people and will run from 11:00 BST to 21:30.

The event is raising funds for The Meath Epilepsy Charity and learning disability charity the Halow Project.

Both charities will also perform with their choirs.
