Scholarship students with a football club have donated food to create 70 meals for those in need at Christmas.

Young members of Peterborough United Foundation - known as the Posh Foundation - collected food and other items to be given to the food bank at Fengate.

Tom Lea, who helped the students to co-ordinate the event said: "Christmas can be a particularly difficult time of year for many people and it was brilliant to see that our scholars wanted to do something for those less fortunate than themselves.

"They came together, made a very generous donation and we're all very proud of them."
