Children help to design mayor's Christmas cards

Four school children have helped design the mayor of Swale's annual Christmas cards.
Mayor Ben Martin invited students from his former primary school, Ethelbert Road School in Faversham, Kent, to create holiday-themed artworks to feature on the Christmas cards he sends out.
All of the youngsters submitted artworks, with two five-year-olds and a 10-year-old chosen as the winners.
An eight-year-old also wrote a poem which was chosen to feature inside every card.
The winning artworks, chosen out of 20 finalists, are two paintings of Christmas trees, and a pencil drawing depicting Santa Claus heading down the chimney.
Mr Martin said: "I wanted to get local children involved in Swale's Christmas traditions this year, so I took a trip back to my old primary school.
"It was incredibly difficult to pick the winners of our competition but I can't wait to send out these fun cards and know they will bring a smile to the face of everyone who received them, like they did when I was looking at all of the submissions."
