An 83-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman, 84, who was found dead in her home.

Bedfordshire Police officers were called to Kingsbury Avenue in Dunstable just after 13:40 GMT on Thursday, following reports a woman had been injured.

Margaret Worby was pronounced dead at the scene, said the force.

Roger Worby, also of Kingsbury Avenue, was charged with murder and appeared at Luton Magistrates' Court on Saturday, said police.

He was remanded into custody and will next appear at Luton Crown Court on Tuesday, a spokesperson added.
