Trains cancelled as lightning strikes signal box

Rail services have faced delays and cancellations after lightning struck a signalling system.
The weather incident took place near a train depot in Shoeburyness, Essex, on Wednesday.
It resulted in the trains being unable to run between Southend Central and Shoeburyness throughout the evening.
Rail operator c2c said it was "anticipating some disruption" on Thursday while "engineers continue to repair faulty equipment".
