Police have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a 52-year-old man was found at a farm in Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire Police was called to an outbuilding off the A1133 in Langford, near Newark, shortly after 10:15 GMT on Saturday.
Detectives said the death was not being treated as suspicious, but it was believed to be linked to the disappearance of Brian Wright, who was reported missing from the area on Thursday.
Mr Wright, 82, remains missing, but detectives launched an investigation after receiving intelligence indicating he was dead.
The force has also referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to previous police contact with family members.
Search teams have been deployed to the area and the force added it would provide further updates.
Det Ch Insp Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this death is ongoing.
"However, I'd like to reassure members of the community that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. At this early stage, we believe all parties to be known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public.
"We would also ask the public to respect the privacy of family members at what is an incredibly difficult time for them. They are being supported by specially trained officers."
