Two road improvement schemes aiming to cut congestion and improve bus reliability in Bradford have been completed.

A dedicated filter lane and signal have been added for those turning right from Leeds Road onto the A6177.

Meanwhile, at the junction of Little Horton Lane and Park Lane, mini roundabouts have been replaced with traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing has been added.

Alex Ross-Shaw of Bradford Council said: "These schemes aim to help remove barriers to travel, improve connectivity and accessibility to opportunities in terms of jobs and training, particularly for those on low incomes who have limited or no access to cars."

The work was part of a wider programme of investment in improved bus travel, and operators met with the council ahead of the project to highlight problem areas.

Similar works are planned for two more areas - on the A647 Leeds Road and Garnett Street, close to the junction of Leeds Road and the A650 Shipley Airedale Road, and at Bolton Road, Leeds Road and Stone Hall Road in Eccleshill.

The projects are funded by £1.39m granted to Bradford Council through the government's Levelling Up scheme.
