'My 3,500 mile trip to Sunderland was incredible'

A woman who travelled about 3,500 miles to Sunderland for the 2025 Women's World Rugby Cup said she would "definitely" return to the city.
Roseanne Levan travelled from Baltimore to watch the the first cup match between England and the USA, which took place on Friday evening.
More than 40,000 fans descended on the city as Sunderland's Stadium of Light played host while a special fan zone was already set up in the city. England won the match with a score of 69.
"I am here for the rugby but I'll definitely come back for a visit." Roseanne said.

She added: "This is my first time in Sunderland and I've got to say I love the city, I've never met such friendly people.
"The atmosphere throughout my whole time here has been incredible."
The event, which included concerts, a parade and fireworks, is believed to have brought in an estimated £20m to the local economy.
Michael Mordey, leader of Sunderland Council, said: "Hosting the women's rugby has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase everything our city has to offer on the international stage, and it's one that the people of Sunderland have embraced wholeheartedly."
He added: "Events of this scale don't just bring pride, they bring real benefits - with the opening match alone expected to deliver a more than £20m boost to the North East economy."
Patrick Melia, the council's chief executive said: "It's really great, we've got people from America, from Holland, so you're talking to people from all around the world.
