Arrest made after man stabbed on cycle path

A man has suffered serious injuries after being stabbed on a cycle path in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the victim, who is in his 50s, was found injured beneath the Melrosegate bridge, in Tang Hall, at around 19:50 BST on Friday.
The force said the man, who is from York, was taken to hospital with leg and abdominal injuries.
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.

Witnesses described seeing nine police vehicles, an ambulance and an air ambulance at the scene on Friday evening.
A police cordon has been put up by the Melrosegate underpass, with officers seen conducting searches along the cycle path and surrounding area.
Officers investigating the attack have appealed for any witnesses to come forwards, in particular two girls who were seen walking from the direction of the incident and told a member of the public that someone had been injured
