A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing at a house in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to Wheatcroft Drive in Edwalton on Wednesday after receiving reports a man had been repeatedly stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Nottinghamshire Police officers arrived at the scene at about 12.45 BST and arrested a 37-year-old man.

Det Insp Simon Harrison said there was a “large police presence” in the area following the attack.

He added: “We believe that this was a targeted incident and that those involved were known to each other. As such, we do not believe there is a wider threat to the community.”
