A crash on the M5 northbound involving several vehicles led to a near two-hour closure on Friday afternoon.

National Highways reported five miles of queuing traffic at one point after the collision between junction seven, for Worcester, and junction six.

The carriageway reopened at about 16:15 GMT.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said three vehicles were involved and one woman had to be cut free by fire crews.

A spokesperson said her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and she was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further checks.
