Four-weeks of roadworks begin in New Forest town

Works will include the construction of a new zebra crossing
- Published
Four weeks of roadworks have begun in a port town, causing disruption for drivers.
Hampshire County Council has put temporary two-way traffic lights in place on Avenue Road in Lymington while the work is carried out.
Works will include the construction of a new zebra crossing, landscaping improvements and the widening of the pavement.
The local authority said efforts would be made to minimise disruption in the area, as it aimed to improve accessibility for those travelling between Lymington Church of England School and Lymington Sports Ground.
Clarification 4th August: This article was updated to remove references to the road being closed and that roadworks and temporary traffic lights were the source of the disruption.
