Planners originally threw the scheme out, saying it will have a negative impact on Badsey

A scheme to build 35 homes is due to return to planners in Worcestershire after it was initially turned down.

Outline plans by Lone Star Group for Badsey were rejected by Wychavon District Council in June 2024, but subsequently approved by a planning inspector.

More detailed proposals - setting out the layout, scale, appearance and landscaping of the site – have now been submitted to the local authority.

The development, earmarked for land off Bretforton Road, would include 14 affordable homes and be made up of a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

The developer said that if the detailed plans are approved, it would deliver "a high-quality development" which "continues the settlement form of this part of the village".

District planners originally declined the outline plans for the site, saying the development would have an negative impact on Badsey.

The planning inspector disagreed, and said there would only be "a small degree of harm from loss of countryside, and to the character and appearance of the landscape".

This, they added, would not be enough to outweigh the benefits of the proposal.

Residents and parish councillors had raised concerns about the impact the development would have on traffic on the B4305 and the strain on the "already crowded centre of the village".

This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, which covers councils and other public service organisations.
