A £120,000 grant has been secured from the National Lottery to help highlight the history of the Northern Meeting Park in Inverness.

The money will allow museum and archive staff at High Life Highland to host events, guided tours and talks aimed at engaging the community with the park's history and encouraging them to share stories and memorabilia.

Eight interpretation panels or plinths will also be created, incorporating some of the input from the community, to reflect the park's heritage.

A separate project has also started to refurbish the grandstand and build a new community pavilion at the Northern Meeting Park - which was first laid out in 1864.
