A man who was seriously injured in an attack in Nottingham has died, police have said.
Jermaine Mazlum, 43, was assaulted in Alfred Street North, in the St Ann's area of the city, just before 21:00 BST on 17 June.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, where he died on 5 July.
Mr Mazlum's family said he would "never be forgotten" in a tribute to him.
In a statement, his family said: "When Jermaine was suddenly taken away from us it took a big part of us all. He had a good soul and would do anything for anyone.
"He would always have the biggest smile on his face no matter what he was going through. He will be truly missed and will always have a place in our hearts.
"He's gone too soon but will never be forgotten. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time as we try and come to terms with our loss."
Nottinghamshire Police said a 53-year-old man "was previously charged with causing grievous bodily harm and remains remanded in while awaiting the court process".
