Three more charged over violent disorder in city

Three more men have been charged as part of an ongoing probe into disturbances in Stoke-on-Trent, last month.

Ryan Perry, 22, of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, and Arthur Walker, 67, from Sandyford in the city, have been charged with violent disorder.

Ted Piolunowicz, 63, of Hanley, has been charged with obstructing and/or resisting a constable in execution of duty.

A total of 116 people have been arrested, with 48 charged, as part of Staffordshire Police's investigation into disorder in Hanley on 3 August and in Tamworth the following night.

Mr Piolunowicz is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 7 November.

Mr Perry, who has also been charged with two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, is due at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday.

Mr Walker, who is due to appear at the same court on 10 October, has also been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug (cannabis).

Meanwhile, a man has been charged as part of the force's ongoing inquiry into violent disorder in Tamworth.

Michael Blackford, 43, from Amington, Tamworth, has been charged with violent disorder and is to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 11 October.
