Police have praised the "vast majority" of attendees at Creamfields festival despite making 32 arrests.

A total of 125 crimes were reported at the festival site in Daresbury, Cheshire - down from 164 in 2023.

Cheshire Police said an additional 50 people were "dealt with" by officers and issued with fines or court summons, mostly for drug-related offences.

The force said despite those offences, and the impact of turbulent weather, most of the nearly 80,000 visitors enjoyed the festival "respectfully and safely".

'Increased presence'

Supt Sarah Heath said the force had made a "conscious effort" to target drug dealers both before and during the event.

Amnesty bins were put in place and officers and security staff searched attendees on arrival.

Supt Heath said: "Almost 80,000 people attended this year’s event and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the vast majority of festival-goers for their cooperation and their behaviour throughout.

“There was a really good atmosphere at Creamfields, and it was clear that attendees were there to have a good time."
