A man who sexually assaulted three women at a hotel has been handed a suspended sentence.

Zia Khan was at the Village Hotel in Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, when he targeted the women, two of whom he touched over their bikinis in a jacuzzi.

The 48-year-old, of Rivergreen Crescent, Bramcote, was found guilty of three counts following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, on Monday.

'Degrading and humiliating'

As well as the suspended sentence, Khan must also pay two of his victims £1,000 and a third £750, carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, and carry out 35 rehabilitation requirement days.

He has also been ordered not to visit the Village Hotel for 10 years and will have to sign the sex offenders register for the same amount of time.

Judge Michael Auty KC praised the "extraordinarily brave" victims for giving evidence against Khan, who he said had acted with "some considerable degree of arrogance" during the trial.

"No man worthy of the name sexually assaults a woman," he said.

"It's despicable behaviour, it's degrading and humiliating for them, and what might be seen by you as being nothing more than a bit of fun can have the most profound and long-lasting effect."
