A Surrey charity is planning a fundraising firewalk to raise money for its hospice.

St Raphael’s Hospice said the challenge would take place on 5 November in the hospice grounds.

The spokesperson said "guests can enjoy an epic bonfire night while braving the coals for a worthy cause in front of spectating friends and family".

All participants will attend a training workshop on the night ahead of the challenge, presented by firewalk instructor Cliff Mann.

Kate Billingham Wilson, director of fundraising and communications at St Raphael’s Hospice, said: “This is an exciting new event to bring our community together, in the heart of our hospice grounds, and a real challenge to walk across hot coals for our charity!

“We invite everyone to join us for a fun evening with hot food and music, while supporting a great cause.”

St Raphael's helps support people living with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones.

The hospice, which is based in Sutton, also has donation shops in Banstead, Carshalton and Cheam.
