A suspected assault in a Surrey village which left a man needing hospital treatment has led police to appeal for witnesses.

Anyone with information about the incident in High Street, Thames Ditton, on Wednesday night is asked to contact Surrey Police.

The force said officers were called at 22:30 GMT following reports of a man being assaulted by two men.

The victim was attended to at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service, and was taken to hospital for further treatment, Surrey Police said.

Witnesses to the alleged assault, or people with CCTV or dashcam footage of it or any events leading up to it, including those who drove along High Street between 22:20 and 22:45, are asked to contact the force.
